Testimonials

From our Partner Organizations

Dear Game Changers,

On behalf of Children of Promise, NYC, I would like to thank you for your generous donation made in January 2019. At our headquarters in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, Children of Promise, NYC serves more than 350 children and their families each year. Our innovative model was developed to address the specific emotional trauma that can be triggered by losing a parent to incarceration. Ten years later, CPNYC is still the only agency in NYC that co-locates a licensed mental health clinic with an after-school program and summer day camp, seamlessly providing access to therapeutic services and youth development all under one roof. Our work is made possible through support from incredible community partners like yourself! Thank you for the equipment you donated. It is used regularly during our After School Program and Saturday Resource Center. Your generous support has brought a smile to many faces!

Sincerely,
Tara DeWorsop
Director of Development & Communications

Dear Game Changers NY

At KEEN New York we empower youth of all abilities by providing free one-to-one programs of exercise, fitness, and fun, led by volunteer coaches. In order to provide our activities free of charge, we depend on the generosity of amazing people and organizations like Game Changers New York. We were honored this year to receive a donation of sports equipment for our young Athletes to enjoy. This donation allowed us to offer our families a fun day in the sun on Randall’s Island for KEEN New York’s KEENBall Family Day. Thank you Game Changers New York for changing the game for Athletes of all abilities!”

Thank you,
Amanda

With the commitment and support of like minded partners like you, we are able to help provide members of the Tola region these opportunities for growth. Thank you again for your generous support. The FunLimón team, Ford Family, and members of the local community here in Tola sincerely appreciate it.

I first received a call from Sara Blau, in the winter of 2017, asking if my non for profit – Be The Best Sport – was in a need of sport equipment for our athletes(the athletes at Be The Best Sport are children, tweens and teens with special needs). Sara explained how her organization worked, how she gets the community and her peers involved and I was immediately impressed. Sara is older than her years and should be considered a leader on our community. As a non for profit we are always in search sports equipment that our participants can use during classes, now our athletes have soccer, basketball and footballs and can learn new skills. Thank you Game Changers and Sara Blau.

Best regards,
Jackie Mandel

Thank you again for supporting Etgarim and sending us the sports equipment. Your work and organization are absolutely wonderful! It is truly inspiring and heartwarming to see young people such as yourself leading society to a brighter future and giving to those in need.

After Sara initially contacted Etgarim and offered us a donation of sports equipment, I visited the Game Changers New York website to learn more about what you do and was amazed to see such a great organization run by young and inspiring people. Etgarim empowers and socially integrates people with disabilities in Israel through outdoor challenge sports. We integrate sports equipment such as balls and cones in our running and cycling groups’ activities and were extremely grateful and happy to receive the equipment donation from Game Changers. Thank you Sara and all involved for supporting Etgarim and making the world a better place!

Warm regards,

Sports Connect Academy is a project that aims to empower and educate young people in the Eastlands of Kenya through soccer. We started this project ten years ago, when we saw how many girls and boys were dropping out of school because of poverty and lack of opportunities. We also saw how some of them were getting involved in crime and violence, without any guidance or support. We wanted to change that. We wanted to give them hope and a positive outlet for their energy and talent.

We formed two soccer teams: Makolanders for girls and Pakolanders for boys. These teams compete in the Kenya league and serve as role models for the younger kids who join the academy. Through soccer, we have been able to provide some of our girls and boys with free high school education, which is not free in Kenya. We have also been able to teach them life skills, leadership, teamwork, and discipline. We have seen them grow in confidence, self-esteem, and resilience. We have seen them become agents of change in their communities. That’s how we connected with them through sports. That’s the story of Sports Connect.

One day, a young lady named Sara who had started her own foundation at the age of 16 got into an Uber ride with me to DC. We started talking about sports and she told me about her passion for helping young people around the world. I told her about our academy and how we were making a difference in the lives of our kids. She was impressed and curious. She promised to visit us someday and see for herself. She kept her word and came to Kenya after many years. She was amazed by what she saw and decided to partner with us. She donated some sports equipment and funds to help us expand our project and reach more kids. She also shared her story and inspired our kids to dream big and work hard. She was a game-changer for us.

On behalf of Sports Connect, I would like to thank Sara and her foundation, Game Changer New York, for their generosity and support. We hope that you will continue to be part of our journey and help us keep our girls in school and our kids engaged in the game they love most. Thank you, Game Changer New York, for partnering with Sports Connect for the development of Kenya.
